304.9 kWp Rooftop Solar Expansion | Kalyani, West Bengal

The Opportunity

Phoenix Conveyor Belt India (P) Limited, a Continental Group company and part of the German Continental Group, is focused on improving energy efficiency and advancing its sustainability goals.

At its Kalyani facility, the company already had a 447 kWp solar installation. Innovel was initially brought in to manage its Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and address performance and reliability concerns with the existing plant.

The successful O&M engagement opened the door to a larger opportunity: expanding the site’s solar capacity with Innovel.

The Innovel Approach

Innovel took over the O&M of the existing plant with a focus on performance optimisation, preventive maintenance, safety and operational reliability.

The engagement gave Innovel the opportunity to demonstrate its technical expertise beyond routine maintenance—ensuring the solar asset was managed with the attention required for consistent performance.

Following this experience, Phoenix Conveyor Belt selected Innovel to execute its next solar project: a 304.9 kWp rooftop solar expansion.

The Solution

Innovel executed the supply, installation and commissioning of a 304.9 kWp rooftop solar PV system, including:

  • Solar PV modules & mounting structures
  • Inverters
  • LT panels
  • Rooftop walkways
  • Installation & commissioning
  • 2 years of O&M support

The project was executed between May 2026 and August 2026, with a focus on quality, safety and dependable long-term performance.

Project Impact

  • 304.9 kWp installed capacity
  • ₹23.89 lakh expected annual savings
  • 3.52 years ROI

A Partnership That Expanded With The Project

What makes this project significant is the journey behind it.

Innovel’s relationship with Phoenix Conveyor Belt began with O&M of an existing 447 kWp solar plant. The expansion project followed after Innovel demonstrated its ability to manage the asset with technical expertise, professionalism, safety and quality at the forefront.

The result: an O&M mandate evolved into a new solar project.

It is a reflection of Innovel’s ability to build value not just through project execution, but through continued performance across the lifecycle of a solar asset.

The Result

The 304.9 kWp expansion adds further renewable energy capacity to Phoenix Conveyor Belt’s Kalyani facility, with projected annual generation of 353,000 kWh and expected annual savings of ₹23.89 lakh.

More than an expansion, the project demonstrates how strong asset management can create opportunities for deeper, long-term partnerships.
