Overview
Innovel partnered with a leading polymer manufacturer to enable a large-scale transition to clean energy across its manufacturing operations. The initiative focused on reducing energy costs, lowering carbon emissions, and building a more sustainable and efficient power infrastructure.
The Challenge
The client, one of India’s top plastic manufacturing groups, faced rising electricity costs and increasing pressure to reduce carbon impact. With energy-intensive operations across multiple facilities, there was a need for a reliable, scalable solution that could deliver both cost efficiency and long-term sustainability.
The Solution
Innovel designed and deployed end-to-end solar power solutions tailored to the client’s energy consumption patterns.
The engagement began with a 2.093 MW installation in 2019, which delivered strong performance and immediate savings. This led to a phased scale-up across multiple facilities.
In total, Innovel installed solar power systems across 6 manufacturing plants, achieving a combined capacity of 5.89 MW, with additional capacity currently under development.
Implementation
The project was executed in phases, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing manufacturing operations.
Innovel managed the entire lifecycle — from design and engineering to procurement and installation. Each system was optimized for site-specific requirements to maximize efficiency and output.
A robust operations and maintenance (O&M) framework was established, supported by continuous monitoring and performance optimization to ensure consistent generation across all sites.
The Impact
The project delivered significant financial and environmental benefits.
The initial 2.093 MW installation generated annual savings of ₹1.8 Cr, demonstrating immediate value. With scale, the total installed capacity of 5.89 MW now delivers average annual savings of ₹4.73 Cr.
Over its lifetime, the project is expected to generate savings exceeding ₹120 Cr.
In addition, the installations have offset over 2 lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions, equivalent to planting 7–8 million trees.
Performance has remained strong, with actual generation exceeding projections by 2.5% in 2025, ensuring sustained efficiency and higher returns year after year.
Conclusion
This partnership demonstrates how clean energy can drive both sustainability and business performance at scale.
With a strong foundation in execution, performance, and long-term management, Innovel enabled the client to transition towards a more efficient, cost-effective, and future-ready energy model — turning a single project into a long-term partnership.
